After a detailed safety briefing and paddle instruction, your licensed guide will lead you through a fast-flowing, consistent mix of Class 2 and Class 3 rapids, including the famous rapid known as ‘The Whopper.’ The trip concludes with a scenic float section, offering breathtaking views of the Canadian Rockies and potential wildlife sightings. No previous rafting experience is required.

1. Arrive at the Sunwapta River take-out (AB) at your scheduled meeting time. Park your car and wait for our Maligne Rafting bus
2. Board our bus for the shuttle to the Sunwapta River launch site
3. Gear fitting and changing
4. Safety briefing and paddle instruction
5. Navigate the Sunwapta River through a consistent flow of Class 2 and Class 3 rapids, including the famous ‘Whopper’
6. Scenic float section with opportunities to spot wildlife
7. Exit the raft at the Sunwapta take-out location where your car is parked
