Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, as animals move freely in their natural habitat.

However, we have a high success rate, with wildlife sightings on approximately 95% of tours. Each day is unique, and the types of animals seen vary based on seasonal activity and feeding patterns.

On the rare occasion that wildlife is not spotted, your guide will still provide engaging commentary about local wildlife, habitats, and the ecosystem, ensuring a rewarding and educational experience.

There is no washroom on the bus. However, with enough notice, your guide can stop at an outhouse along the route if needed.

Bring a water bottle and dress comfortably for the day’s weather. You may bring a small snack, but we recommend planning meals before or after the tour, as there are no scheduled stops. Tours may occasionally run longer than the scheduled 3 hours to maximize wildlife sightings, so avoid strict plans immediately afterward.

The tour is best suited for guests aged 5 and up, as it is a continuous vehicle-based experience with no scheduled stops. Younger children are welcome but may find the experience less engaging due to the unpredictable nature of wildlife sightings, and commentary is generally geared more toward adults.

Wildlife is typically most active in the early morning and evening, but there is no guaranteed difference between morning and afternoon tours. We recommend choosing the time that best fits your schedule—your guide will always aim to maximize sightings.

Tours operate in comfortable, air-conditioned minibuses with a maximum of 24 passengers, though groups are typically capped at 21 guests for added space and comfort.

The Jasper National Park Wildlife Tour is a vehicle-based experience that follows a flexible route based on daily wildlife activity. Guides travel a mix of main highways and smaller local roads to maximize sightings. All wildlife viewing takes place from inside the bus, and the tour remains on paved roads in accordance with Parks Canada regulations.

Common wildlife sightings include elk, deer, bighorn sheep, bears, and bald eagles, with occasional sightings of moose, mountain goats, or coyotes. Your guide uses local knowledge and recent wildlife activity to help maximize your chances of seeing a variety of animals throughout the tour.
