Trips run rain or shine. Wetsuits and life jackets keep you warm, and on cooler days, wear a fleece or wool layer. Trips may be delayed briefly if lightning is nearby, but guides ensure everyone stays safe.
Yes — Sunwapta and Fraser Rivers offer self-drive options. Drive to the take-out or rest stop, and guides transport you to the put-in. Your car will be waiting at the end.

- Athabasca Expressway (Class 2): 5 sets of rapids, scenic stretches (family-friendly).
- Canyon Run (Class 2+): Longer, 8 sets of fun rapids through canyon walls (family-friendly).
- Sunwapta River (Class 3): Fast, continuous rapids, beginner-friendly thrills (more adventurous).
- Fraser River (Class 3+): Large rolling rapids, portage, optional swim — exciting for beginners and experienced rafters (more adventurous).
- Athabasca Expressway: 1 hour on the water (~2 hours total)
- Canyon Run: 1.5 hours on the water (~3.5 hours total)
- Sunwapta River: 1.5 hours on the water (~4 hours total)
- Fraser River: 2 hours on the water (~5 hours total)
Arrive in a swimsuit or swim shorts. We provide wetsuits, paddle jackets, neoprene booties, life jackets (and helmets for Class 3/3+ and kayaking). Bring a towel, warm dry clothes, and a fleece or wool layer for cooler days. Avoid cotton. Also, bring a snack and water for the bus ride.
- Class 2 trips (Athabasca Expressway & Canyon Run): Ages 5+
- Class 3 / 3+ trips (Sunwapta & Fraser Rivers) and Inflatable Kayaking: Ages 12+, minimum 90 lbs / 41 kg
Children must meet the minimum age and weight on the day of the trip. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
No experience is needed. All our trips are beginner-friendly, and licensed guides provide full safety briefings and paddle instructions. Perfect for first-timers and experienced rafters alike.
No swimming skills are required. All guests wear a life jacket and wetsuit. Guides explain what to do if you enter the water. Falling out is very unlikely when following instructions.
