Highlights
Take on the Fraser River, home to the largest and most powerful whitewater rafting experience in the Jasper region. This action-packed Class 3+ rafting adventure delivers big waves, continuous rapids, and unforgettable scenery — perfect for first-timers and seasoned paddlers alike.
Please note: This trip begins in British Columbia, which is 1 hour behind Alberta. See detailed self-drive meeting information at the bottom of this page.
This self-drive option is ideal for guests travelling independently or exploring the Mount Robson area. Participants meet our team at the Mt. Terry Fox Rest Stop, conveniently located along Highway 16.
Once everyone has arrived, you’ll change into the provided rafting gear before boarding our bus for a short shuttle to the river put-in. The launch site sits beneath Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies — an unforgettable setting to begin your rafting adventure.
Before entering the river, your guide will provide a detailed safety briefing and paddle instruction. From there, the raft launches into the fast-moving waters of the Fraser River, where your guide skillfully navigates a series of splashy, fast-paced, and powerful rapids.
Midway through the trip, you’ll exit the river for a brief portage around Rearguard Falls, an impressive natural feature and scenic viewpoint along the route.
Downstream, the canyon narrows and the excitement builds, delivering some of the best whitewater rafting in Western Canada. After the main rapids, the river transitions into a scenic float section where guests may have the opportunity for an optional swim.
Known for its strong and consistent flow, the Fraser River forms the foundation of our Class 3 Guarantee. While water levels on other rivers can fluctuate throughout the season, the Fraser reliably delivers thrilling, high-quality whitewater conditions.
At the end of the trip, guests board our bus for the return shuttle back to the Mt. Terry Fox Rest Stop, where their vehicle will be waiting.
The total experience lasts approximately 3 hours, including equipment changes, safety briefing, river shuttles, and roughly 2 hours on the water, including the portage.
This trip features intermediate Class 3 rapids and is designed to be exciting, energetic, and accessible — no previous rafting experience required. Participants must be at least 12 years old and weigh a minimum of 90 lbs (41 kg).
